How to Make a Clean Signature Image Using Only Your Phone
Sign, click and clean: get a scanner-quality signature with a white background, then resize it for any form.
Forms reject signatures that are faint, grey or shadowed. You don't need a scanner — a phone photo plus a clean-up step gives the same result.
1. Sign properly
- Use a black (or dark blue) gel or ball pen on plain white paper — no lines.
- Sign your normal running signature. Many exams reject signatures in CAPITAL letters.
- Sign a few times and pick the best one.
2. Take the photo
- Daylight near a window works best; avoid the phone's own shadow by holding it slightly to the side.
- Keep the phone parallel to the paper so the signature isn't skewed.
3. Clean it
Upload to the Signature Cleaner. It estimates the paper's lighting, removes shadows, turns the paper pure white and darkens the ink. Tap Auto-crop to trim around the signature.
