How To Use

1

Upload the image

JPG or PNG. The current DPI and print size are shown.

2

Pick the DPI

Choose 72, 96, 150, 200, 300 or 600 — or tap Custom and type any value your form asks for.

3

Keep pixels or set print size

'Only DPI' changes the print-size label without touching pixels. 'Set print size' resizes the image so it prints at exactly the cm/mm/inch you enter (e.g. passport 3.5×4.5 cm).

4

Apply, preview and download

Check the result's pixels, DPI and print size, then download as JPG or PNG.

About This Tool

Convert DPI sets the resolution stored inside a JPG or PNG — some portals and printers check it — and can resize a photo to an exact physical print size.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is DPI?

Dots per inch — how many pixels are printed per inch. A 600 px wide image at 300 DPI prints 2 inches (5.08 cm) wide.

Does changing DPI make my photo sharper?

No. 'Only DPI' changes the label only. To get more pixels for a larger print, use 'Set print size' — but upscaling can't add real detail.

My form says 200 DPI, 3.5×4.5 cm. What do I do?

Choose 200 DPI, tap Set print size, then Passport 3.5×4.5 cm. The photo becomes 276×354 px at 200 DPI.

Is my file uploaded to a server?

No. The tool runs entirely in your browser, so your file never leaves your device and nothing is stored on our side.
